The 7-th Meeting of the Belarusian-Ukrainian Consultative Council for Business Cooperation took place in Gomel on October 25, 2018, within the framework of the First Forum of the Regions of Ukraine and Belarus. 

The event was attended by the Head of the Belarus Chamber of Commerce and Industry Volodymyr Ulahovich, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine Gennadiy Chizhykov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Ukraine Igor Sokol, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Belarus Igor Kyzym, representatives of more than 40 Belarusian and 50 Ukrainian enterprises and organizations, the President of the Kherson CCI Viktoria Ostroumova and the Presidents of other regional chambers of both countries.

At the Meeting, the export potential of Belarus and Ukraine regions was presented, the main directions of trade and economic interregional cooperation were discussed, the prospects of mutual use of regional trading platforms, business interaction development in various spheres, as well as drafting an agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Belarus on approval of the Regulation on electronic certification system for the origin of goods.

Among the promising areas for investing in Ukraine, the participants called production of glass, cardboard products and industrial refrigeration equipment, storage of vegetables and fruits. Ukrainian and Byelorussian companies can cooperate in creating joint ventures and expanding exports to third-country markets.

Over the past 8 years, the Advisory Board has proven to be an effective platform for exchanging opinions between chambers and directly between Belarusian and Ukrainian entrepreneurs. The lively business interest on both sides attracts a problem of unimpeded access of Belarusian and Ukrainian goods to the domestic markets of both countries, lending and insurance of export supplies, use of electronic trading platforms, issues related to scientific and technical cooperation, agro-industrial complex, etc.
