2016.10.03 Continued cooperation with Iran

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry being an institution to support Ukrainian businesses and regional economic development, continues to cooperate with foreign partners for attracting investment. The Islamic Republic of Iran is one of the most promising partner countries in this field.

On October, 3 in Kiev, First Vice-President of the Ukrainian CCI Mr. Mykhailo NEPRAN, and President of the Kherson CCI Ms. Viktoriya Ostroumova met Mr. H. Ahadzade, investment expert of Iranian company Mehr.Co, in order to develop financial tools for implementation of investment projects with the participation of Iranian investors, in Kherson region. Mission of Mehr.Co company is consulting major Iranian investors on the spheres and specific projects to invest their funds.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Artem Voitekhin, Second Secretary for Economic Affairs of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Ukrainian Embassy takes an active role in development of Ukrainian and Iranian economic relations and works hard to promote the mutual interest of businessmen representing both countries.

The Ukrainian-Iranian cooperation is developing, and on October 26-29, Kiev will host IRAN EXPO – exhibition of Iranian companies, providing for the scheduled visit of a large Iranian business delegation (over 100 people). Ukrainian entrepreneurs will have an opportunity not only to get acquainted with the goods produced in Iran, but also to take part in B2B meetings.

Iran remains the main prospective partner of Ukraine in the Near East region. Today, agriculture represents the main area of foreign trade and economic cooperation; however, other areas like engineering and high-tech industry have strong potential too. Iranian party is ready to cooperate with the Ukrainian industrial and scientific enterprises, therefore Ukrainian companies and organizations should use the opportunities for cooperation with Iran more actively.
